  1. Rob Williams Says:

Supermarket Sweep was definitely filmed in a studio!

I was once on a quiz show that was being shot in the studio next door. Walking down the corridor I saw Dale Winton standing in a long queue for the telephone… no big ego there then!

If you’re interested the programme I was on was called Tellystack, was hosted by Paul Ross, and was the first quiz show commissioned by a cable channel. Unfortunately the channel was UK Gold so God only knows what has happened to the tapes!

Gari (Japanese pickled ginger) is most definitely NOT meant as a breath cleanser for after a sushi meal (although this may be an unintended benefit). Sushi is a very delicate and subtle tasting food. The pickled ginger slices are meant to cleanse your palate between each piece of sushi so that you can properly ‘taste’ the next piece. This is why there are so many slices. Like Helen, I like it too, but I can’t imagine eating a pile of it at the end of a meal. Also, sushi should be fresh and most definitely not stinky. It should never leave you breath anywhere near as smelly as garlic, onions, or the many pungent herbs and spices of other cuisines. Traditionally, it was also used in the belief that it had anti-bacterial properties, which was a good thing in the time before refrigeration.

    Keep up the good work!

  3. Heikki Says:

Shigeru Miyamoto has stated that Mario and Luigi are mononymous.
